Call for abstracts
The call for abstracts is now open. Authors will be invited to submit their abstract regarding one of the following topics before 7 February.
Conference themes
The conference will focus on the following themes:
- Coalescence and break-up, sprays, fragmentation, atomization
- Phase changes (evaporation, freezing, melting, condensation, Leidenfrost droplets)
- Wetting and spreading, coating, electrowetting, superhydrophobicity
- Droplet manipulation on a substrate (open microfluidics, drops on fibres, elastocapillarity, bouncing droplets)
- Confined droplets and liquid plugs (incl. droplet microfluidics, EWOD, centrifugal microfluidics)
- Drying of dispersions, colloids, aerosols
- Emulsification (double-emulsion, encapsulation, surfactants, …)
Abstracts submission process
All proposals must be submitted online via the submission website (go to “Submit an abstract or edit your submissions”).
Abstracts should be submitted as a 1 page (text and figures) PDF document using one of the mandatory templates: Word or LaTeX. They should emphasize the main points and novel features of the work, including results. The deadline for submissions is 7 February 2025.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to present their research as either oral or poster presentation during the conference.
During submission, you may indicate whether you would prefer to present your work during an oral or poster session. You may also signify if you would like to take part in the Best Poster contest.
Poster Awards
The best posters to be presented will be rewarded, so make sure your poster is outstanding!
A jury will go around the poster sessions and review the participating posters on their esthetics and scientific quality.
Droplets 2025 Photo Contest
We are excited to announce a photo contest as part of the Droplets 2025 Conference! Participants who submit an abstract are invited to submit one photo related to droplets.
Each submission should include:
- A captivating photo of droplet(s)
- A title for the photo
- Proper credits for the photo
All submitted photos will be displayed in the poster area during the conference, creating a visual celebration of creativity and science. The winner will be elected by a public vote during the conference
Contest Details
Here are some practical details regarding the contest:
- One photo per participant
- Deadline: 7 February, 2025
- Voting: Public voting during the conference
- Prize: A special souvenir from Liège!
Please note that participants must sign an authorization allowing the use of their photo during the conference and on event-related signage.
